Online CPR Certification
CPR stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. In order for you to actually perform this technique, you need to get certification from a legit company that offers the service. Notably, the American Heart Association is one of the main bodies that give out CPR certifications. They do offer an Online CPR course where you will learn the contents from videos on the internet. After reviewing the information, you will need to schedule an appointment with an instructor, and a test will be given to you, to ensure that you meet the necessary skills. Once you have completed the test, you will be given a card that is only valid for 2 years, and then you must renew it.
Some companies offer programs where you can learn CPR at-home. This training video includes videos and information sheets for both adults and children. This is not the best option as it is not recognized by any organizations, so you will not be able to take a test. Also, be aware of scams that have picked up in the recent years. Many online sites claim to be recognized by the American Heart Association or the Red Cross but they are not, and this is illegal. You will lose a lot of money if you invest in these programs. To be safe, it’s best to call the AHA or the Red Cross and ask for a list of companies that they do recognize. Even if they are legit, it’s best to consider just doing the program through the AHA or Red Cross, as companies that provide Online CPR and First Aid Training, learning services may miss out on important information, or may not provide accurate facts, which will make you fail the test once you go to get your valid card. There are usually no refunds with many programs.
